Crispy Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer
Crispy chicken wings with a light breading made in the air fryer.
Servings 12 wings
large mixing bowl
- 2 lbs chicken wings or drumettes
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
Grease your air fryer basket and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour and spices.
Toss the wings in the flour mix and one by one, transfer them to your air fryer basket, tapping off the excess flour. Do not pile the wings on top of each other, you want them in a single layer. Do this in batches if your air fryer basket is smaller.
Insert your air fryer basket into the air fryer and fry at 400°F for 25 minutes (see notes), flipping halfway through the cooking time.
Toss in your favorite wing sauce or leave them naked.
Just keep in mind, every air fryer is different and this particular temp and time setting works well in my air fryer. You may need to adjust these settings for yours. Always make sure the internal temperature of your chicken reaches 165°F.
I am using the Instant Omni Plus air fryer.
